Shakkei is Japanese for ‘borrowed landscape’. Public parks are the landscape that help complete our private spaces and enrich our public experiences. My design symbolizes and abstracts this idea by aligning six individual trees along a park path in a way that gives the illusion of a single magnificent tree.
